Blogging with Students
Blogging can be used as a creative way to teach students to use technology. Students can learn to surf multiple sties at once, use hyperlinks, and determine the validity of a resource. Teachers can even use blogging as a means for teaching English language learners. Blogging is also a great way to introduce the writing process, build a sense of community, and even provide extra reading practice for students.

I like your idea of using online lessons as a way to teach multi-tasking. Students really need to be taught how to responsibly use all of the tools and resources that are available on the Internet, because many do not understand the many facets and the etiquette associated with writing online. Further, students are extremely interesting in almost everything technology-related. Even though it make take some instruction, students will thrive in an environment in which the Internet is used to not only further reading skills, but to also further writing skills.
