Share five of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Big Words.
How did Martin Lither King, Jr. die?
Why was he important?
How do you think things might be different if he never shared his opinion. and fought for civil rights?

Educational Blogging
Adventures in Educational Blogging is a great blog that shares educational opinions on how to share student work online, the newest technology, and implementing new ideas in the classroom.
Necessary Tool
Technology is a necessary tool. The most important thing is to know when and how to use technology. In the 21st century no educator should be questioning if they should use technology.
Reflection in Teaching Blog I really liked this blog because it speaks about best practices in the classroom, and the face of education today.
Blogging with Students
Blogging can be used as a creative way to teach students to use technology. Students can learn to surf multiple sties at once, use hyperlinks, and determine the validity of a resource. Teachers can even use blogging as a means for teaching English language learners. Blogging is also a great way to introduce the writing process, build a sense of community, and even provide extra reading practice for students.
Literacies and Technology
Students who are exposed to technology in writing, have a much larger exposure to a broad range of information. Students must be taught the most basic skills, so their technology writing experiences will be an effective and adequate addition to the classroom. MultimodalLiteracies seem like they are here to stay.
All the research points toward the favor of digital technologies as a method of enhancing classroom reading instruction. I have, however, yest to read that it would be a great "replacement" of traditional methods. I have to agree the trend toward technology in the classroom continues to grow and becomes a part of my daily classroom routine, but I could hardly feel ready to rely completely on technology as thee source of instruction for my readers. Research points to the importance of using technology as an enhancement to reading instruction, but students posting their work on the internet creates some interesting debates. While it provides students the opportunity to put new literacy into practice it does pose a problem with privacy. There are safeguards to protect the identity of students on the web, but there is also credit protection plans that do little when an identity is stolen. I worry about plagiarism, identity, and fraud.

One of my most favorite books....
This is a link to a book I feel describes how a teacher must teach in any classroom. I read this book the year I taught 3rd grade and had to "test prep" my students for the "test" more than I was allowed to execute any genuine teaching.TeachLikeYourHairIsOnFire!
Introduction
My name is Sara McKinney. I am a second grade teacher. I have taught for 5 years and love my job. I am working toward my masters in reading/ license. I feel reading is the most powerful tool we can give to children. It makes or breaks their lives, and their ability to do it well shapes who they become. My school recently received a large amount of technology, and I have truly enjoyed learning about all I can do to make teaching reading not only fun, but more effective.
